Abstract

Gowers reported sterile intracranial venous thrombosis in 1888 and suggested that the disease is related to factors such as pregnancy, consumption and cachexia. This article reports 7 cases of superior sagittal sinus thrombosis in adults that were not related to intracranial infection or tumors and were diagnosed before death. It also introduces the relevant pathology, etiology and diagnosis information based on the literature, and focuses on the evaluation. Clinical value of anticoagulation therapy in superior sagittal sinus thrombosis. The authors noted that the incidence of superior sagittal sinus thrombosis is difficult to determine because most reports are sporadic cases. In a series of 182 consecutive autopsies, dural sinus thrombosis was demonstrated in 17 cases (9%). exist
