The author collected 2,000 patients with craniocerebral injuries admitted between September 1973 and December 1979. Among them, 138 died. 50 cases (36%) died within 48 hours after the injury, and 88 cases died in the late stage ( 64%). Autopsies were performed on 56 cases. Autopsies were performed on 50% of the cases that died within 48 hours. Autopsies were performed on 35% of late cases. Full body autopsies were performed on all 56 cases. All brain and 80% of the whole body autopsies were completed by one of the authors. , Fresh brains were photographed before or after being cut, and were fixed with 10% formaldehyde for at least 10 days before being sliced. Each brain specimen was cut into 25 pieces through the appropriate parts of the brain and brain stem, and each piece was cut into 25 pieces. The sections were stained with H·E Bodian nerve endings, trichrome staining and Luxol-anti-PAS-hematoxylin staining, and then visualized.
