Observation of 38 cases of non-progressive coin collecting localized muscular atrophy in young people

The author reports a group of diseases clinically different from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, progressive spinal muscular atrophy and other muscular wasting diseases, named non-progressive localized muscular atrophy of hand and forearm in young people . The onset age is young people between 14 and 24 years old, which is one of the important characteristics of this disease. Most of the patients were male (37/38). The vast majority of patients had atrophy of one upper limb (33/38), 3 cases had symmetrical muscle atrophy of both upper limbs, and 2 cases had one side with greater atrophy than the other.
