Phytochemical screening and evaluation of diuretic activity of ethanolic extract of leaves of Moringa coacanesis nimmo

This study aims to research the diuretic effect of moringa concanensis nimmo plant ethanol extract on albino rats using the Lipschitz model. Moringa ethanolic extract was administered orally to experimental albino rats at 2000 mg /kg .Acute toxicity of extracts was evaluated according to OECD guidelines 420-425. The LD50 of extracts was found to be between 2000mg/kg orally. Male albino rats (n=6) were divided into four groups. The control group was given saline.albino rats were divided into four groups and used in metabolic tests to evaluate the diuretic activity of the ethanol extract of the moringa concanensis nimmo plant. Group II contained furosemide (10 mg/kg, p.o.) while groups III and IV receive saline as the control group.these are the ethanol extract (100mh/kg), culture medium (200 mg/kg) and dosage of leave part of moringa concanensis nimmo. Immediately after moringa ethanol extracts treatment, three rats were placed in each metabolic cage and maintained at 21°C ± 0.5°C while all rats were rehydrated with saline ( 10ml/kg, p.o.). measure urine volume calculate each hour until the end of 5 hours. Diuretic effect and diuretic activity are determined by urine output. The concentration of sodium, chloride and potassium in the urine was also measured. Urinary Na+/k+ ratio and carbonyl anhydrase mobility(Cl-/(Na+/K+) where , the animals were interviewed for five hours without food or water. At the end of five hours , total urine output in each metabolic cage was measured Urine volume and levels of different ions such as sodium, potassium and chloride are evaluated. Urine output and urine electrolyte concentration increased in rats due to aqueous crude extract and of moringa concanensis nimmo.
