Abstract

Status epilepticus (interval) in adults usually refers to the continuous state of grand mal seizures, with a rest period of about 5-15 minutes between seizures (if the interval between seizures exceeds 1 hour, it is called frequent seizures), and confusion between seizures recover. In the United States, if there are three seizures within 30 minutes, or a generalized or focal seizure for more than 10 minutes, it is defined as a continuous state. Fukuyama in Japan believed that: (1) epileptic seizures or convulsions lasted for more than one hour; (2) although the duration of each seizure was short, there were recurrent seizures with short intervals, and the consciousness did not exist during the intervals. Those who can recover will be regarded as continuous
