Abstract

Microvascular bypass surgery is very beneficial to patients with transient ischemic attacks caused by cerebrovascular occlusive diseases. Theoretically, this surgery can provide extra compensatory blood to the ischemic cerebral cortex. supply. Many cases of transient ischemia and stroke are due to embolism in the territory supplied by the middle cerebral artery…. Emboli primarily enter the middle cerebral artery from the internal carotid artery through its relatively large outlet from the middle cerebral artery. Non-embolic occlusive intracranial vascular disease also affects branches of the middle cerebral artery. Chronic complete internal carotid artery occlusion usually causes symptoms related to the distribution of the middle cerebral artery. Standard endarterectomy is not recommended for this disease because there is no significant postoperative effect. The author pointed out that this operation establishes an effective additional blood supply for the ischemic cerebral cortex, so the extracranial artery must be anastomosed to a certain part of the branch of the middle cerebral artery to supply enough blood to maintain proper metabolic function. The authors performed a detailed anatomical analysis of superficial cortical vessels and demonstrated that certain middle cerebral arteries
